Decoding Plants' Survival Strategies through the Molecular Patterns Recognized by Immune Receptors
Plants have evolved sophisticated immune systems that enable the perception of pathogens and the activation of appropriate defense responses.
My research focuses on how pathogen-/microbe-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs/MAMPs) and plant-derived endogenous molecular patterns (DAMPs and phytocytokines) are perceived by cell-surface pattern recognition receptors, with the goal of elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying plant–microbe interactions and immune signaling. Building on these findings, I ultimately aim to develop technologies for environmentally sustainable and resilient food production.
